44 civils tués dans l'attaque des villages de Kourakou et de Tondobi  

Dans la nuit du 6 au 7 avril, les villages de Kourakou et de Tondobi, des localités situées dans la région du Sahel au Burkina Faso près de la frontière avec le Niger, ont été la cible d’attaques terroristes. Selon le bilan établi dans un communiqué rendu public du gouverneur de région le 8 avril, la double attaque a fait 44 morts, tous des civils.

À la suite de ces attaques, une offensive des Forces de défense et de sécurité (FDS) a permis de mettre hors d'état de nuire, les groupes armés terroristes impliqués. Aussi, le lieutenant-colonel Rodolphe Sorgho, a invité les populations locales « à faire corps avec les FDS et s'enrôler comme volontaires pour la défense de la patrie (VDP, supplétifs civils) afin de participer à la défense de leurs localités respectives ».

44 civilians killed in the attack on the villages of Kourakou and Tondobi 

During the night of 6-7 April, the villages of Kourakou and Tondobi, located in the Sahel region of Burkina Faso near the border with Niger, were the target of terrorist attacks. According to a statement issued by the regional governor on 8 April, the double attack left 44 people dead, all civilians.

Following these attacks, an offensive by the Defence and Security Forces (FDS) enabled the armed terrorist groups involved to be put out of action. Lieutenant-Colonel Rodolphe Sorgho invited the local population to "join forces with the FDS and enrol as volunteers for the defence of the country (VDP) in order to participate in the defence of their respective localities".

Rupture collective de jeûne pour la promotion du vivre-ensemble

Le 31 mars à Ouagadougou, une rupture collective de jeûne entre musulmans et chrétiens a été réalisée par un groupe de jeunes. Plusieurs personnes de confession chrétienne et musulmane ont répondu présentes à cette invitation.

« L’objectif principal est de montrer la capacité des habitants à transcender leurs différences et à promouvoir la tolérance », a indiqué Moumini Koudougou, principal initiateur de l’idée.

Le père Joseph Clochard, missionnaire d’Afrique, a rappelé l’importance que l’Église catholique accorde à cette rencontre entre musulmans et chrétiens, et la nécessité de vivre en fraternité entre confessions religieuses, surtout dans le contexte actuel du pays.

Collective breaking of the fast to promote living together

On 31 March in Ouagadougou, a collective breaking of the fast between Muslims and Christians was initiated by a group of young people. Several people of Christian and Muslim faiths responded to this invitation. The main objective is to show the capacity of the inhabitants to transcend their differences and to promote tolerance, said Moumini Koudougou, the main initiator of the idea.

Father Joseph Clochard, a missionary in Africa, recalled the importance that the Catholic Church attaches to this meeting between Muslims and Christians, and also the need to live in brotherhood between all religious confessions, especially in the current context of the country.

Sensibilisation des unités des Forces armées nationales

Le 31 mars, une équipe du ministère de la Défense et des Anciens Combattants (MDAC) appuyée par le ministère de la Justice, des Droits Humains et des Relations avec les Institutions (MJDHRI) a animé une session de sensibilisation au profit des unités des Forces armées nationales (FAN) implantées et/ou en opération dans la zone du Groupement de Forces pour la Sécurisation du Nord.

L’équipe s’est entretenue avec les hommes sur plusieurs thèmes d’intérêt pour les opérations militaires, notamment le rôle des prévôtés au sein des unités en opération, les relations entre les prévôtés et les missions opérationnelles, le respect des droits humains dans les opérations de lutte contre le terrorisme ainsi que l’importance des enquêtes en cas d’incidents ou d’allégations.

L’équipe a félicité et encouragé les unités pour les résultats engrangés au cours des opérations militaires. À la sortie de cette sensibilisation, les membres des Forces de Défense et de Sécurité (FDS) étaient satisfaits et ont souhaité à l’équipe de sensibilisation une bonne continuation de leur mission au profit d’autres unités, y compris les Volontaires pour la Défense de la Patrie (VDP).

Awareness-raising of National Armed Forces units

A team from the Ministry of Defence and Veterans Affairs (MDAC), supported by the Ministry of Justice, Human Rights and Institutional Relations (MJDHRI), conducted an awareness-raising session for FAN units based and/or operating in the Groupement de Forces pour la Sécurisation du Nord area on 31 March.

The team spoke to the men about several topics of interest to military operations, including the role of provosts within units on operations, the relationship between provosts and operational missions, respect for human rights in counter-terrorism operations, and the importance of investigating incidents or allegations.

The team congratulated and encouraged the units for the results achieved during the military operations. At the end of the sensitisation, the SDF were satisfied and wished the sensitisation team a successful continuation of their mission for the benefit of other units, including the Volunteers for the Defence of the Fatherland (VDP).

Une vaste opération contre les positions du groupe terroriste GSIM

L’armée burkinabè a lancé une vaste opération contre le groupe terroriste GSIM (Groupe de soutien à l'islam et aux musulmans) le 31 mars selon l’Agence d’information du Burkina (AIB). À Nassoumbou, dans le Sahel, la première journée a enregistré des frappes aériennes contre des positions du groupe terroriste. Des assaillants, cachés dans des abris, ont été touchés par les frappes et une vingtaine de véhicules roulants ont été détruits.

A vast operation against the positions of the terrorist group GSIM

The Burkinabe army launched a vast operation against the terrorist group GSIM on 31 March, according to the Agence d'information du Burkina (AIB). In Nassoumbou, in the Sahel, the first day saw air strikes against positions of the terrorist group. Assailants hiding in shelters were hit by the strikes and some 20 vehicles were destroyed.

À Boungou, des retrouvailles pour promouvoir la cohésion sociale

Du 23 au 25 mars, les habitants de Boungou, un village situé dans la commune de Tiébélé, se sont réunis pour les « Retrouvailles de Boungou », une initiative de l’association TI TELIA TAABA visant à renforcer les liens de fraternité et de cohésion sociale dans la région.

Pendant trois jours, plusieurs activités ont été organisées : le nettoyage du marché et des lieux d’animation, des visites touristiques, une soirée musicale, des dons de matériel médical, etc.     

Le dernier jour a été marqué par deux évènements : une conférence sur le thème « Urgences sécuritaires au Burkina Faso : quelles contributions des populations locales ? », animée par le Commandant de Brigade territoriale et le Commissaire de Police de Tiébélé ;  et la finale de la Coupe de l’Unité, un tournoi de football entre douze équipes. 

Le président de l'association, Jean Saaga Gnebga, se dit satisfait de l'organisation, même s’il exprime des regrets quant au fait que les objectifs n'aient pas été atteints à 100 %.

In Boungou, a reunion to promote social cohesion

From 23 to 25 March 2023, the inhabitants of Boungou, a village located in the commune of Tiébélé in Burkina Faso, gathered for the "Retrouvailles de Boungou", an initiative of the TI TELIA TAABA association aimed at strengthening the bonds of fraternity and social cohesion between the inhabitants of the region.
During three days, several activities were organised, such as the cleaning of the market and the places of entertainment, tourist visits, a musical evening, donations of medical equipment to the CSPS of Boungou, screening and treatment of precancerous cervical lesions and breast cancer.
The last day was marked by a public conference on the theme "Security emergencies in Burkina Faso: what contributions from the local population?", jointly led by the Territorial Brigade Commander and the Police Commissioner of Tiébélé, and a final of the Coupe de l'Unité, a football tournament between twelve teams.
The team from Lô won the final against the team from Tiyalo. The president of the association, Jean Saaga Gnebga, said he was satisfied with the organisation, but he also expressed regret that the objectives were not 100% achieved.

Formation des leaders coutumiers et religieux dans la province de la Gnagna

Un atelier de formation a été organisé les 29 et 30 mars dans la salle de réunion de la préfecture de Bogandé au profit des leaders coutumiers et religieux de la province de la Gnagna (Bogandé) sur leur rôle et responsabilité dans la promotion de la cohésion sociale et la culture de la paix.

Organisée par L’ONG OCADES SED Fada, plus d’une vingtaine de participants ont pris part à cette formation visant au respect des droits humains et à la prévention des conflits communautaires et interpersonnels dans la région de l’Est.

L’abbé Jacques Tindano, du comité d’organisation et président du Réseau interreligieux de la Gnagna, a affirmé que « l’objectif de cette formation était de promouvoir la cohésion sociale et la culture de la paix avec l’appui des leaders coutumiers et religieux. »

Les participants ont apprécié la qualité des travaux et la pertinence des thématiques abordées. Ils ont souhaité que de telles initiatives se multiplient.

Training of customary and religious leaders in the Gnagna province

A training workshop was organised on 29 and 30 March in the meeting room of the Bogandé prefecture for customary and religious leaders of the Gnagna province (Bogandé) on their role and responsibility in promoting social cohesion and the culture of peace. Organised by the NGO OCADES SED Fada, more than twenty participants took part in this training which is part of the implementation of the activities of the support project for the promotion of respect for human rights and the prevention of community and interpersonal conflicts in the Eastern region.

Abbé Jacques Tindano, member of the organising committee and president of the Gnagna Inter-religious Network, said that "the objective of this training was to promote social cohesion and the culture of peace with the support of customary and religious leaders".

The participants appreciated the quality of the work and the relevance of the themes addressed. They hoped that such initiatives would be multiplied to strengthen their capacity in social cohesion.

Des élèves formés à l’utilisation des médias

L’Association burkinabè pour la promotion de l’éducation aux médias, à l’information et au numérique (ABPEMIN) a formé 50 élèves de dix établissements secondaires de la ville de Ouagadougou et de la commune de Saaba sur l’éducation aux médias, à l’information et au numérique du 23 au 25 mars à Ouagadougou.

Les participants ont été initiés entre autres aux techniques de collecte de l’information, à son traitement et à sa diffusion, à l’usage des réseaux sociaux, ainsi que sur l’utilisation du mojo (journalisme mobile).

Pupils trained in the use of the media

The Burkinabe Association for the Promotion of Media, Information and Digital Literacy (ABPEMIN) trained 50 students from ten secondary schools in the city of Ouagadougou and the commune of Saaba on media, information and digital literacy from 23 to 25 March in Ouagadougou.

The participants were introduced to information gathering, processing and dissemination techniques, the use of social networks and the use of mojo (mobil journalism).

Une plateforme pour défendre les journalistes et les leaders d’opinion

Des journalistes, activistes, leaders d’opinion issus de la société civile ou des partis politiques font l’objet de menaces de mort ou d’agressions pour avoir donné leur avis sur la situation du pays.

Un collectif de victimes de ces menaces, dont des journalistes, a créé une plateforme dénommée « Collectif des journalistes, activistes et leaders d’opinion victimes de menaces au Burkina Faso. »

Le collectif vise à rassembler les victimes et à porter leurs causes devant la justice et les instances nationales compétentes, en vue de bénéficier des mécanismes nationaux et internationaux de protection des droits de l’homme.

A platform to defend journalists and opinion leaders

Journalists, activists and opinion leaders from civil society or political parties are subject to death threats or attacks for having expressed their opinion on the situation in the country.

A collective of victims of these threats, including journalists, have created a platform called "Collective of journalists, activists and opinion leaders victims of threats in Burkina Faso.

The collective aims to bring the victims together and to bring their cases before the courts and competent national bodies, with a view to benefiting from national and international human rights protection mechanisms.

Un Festival pour promouvoir la lutte pour les droits des femmes et des filles

Le premier festival féministe au Burkina Faso a été organisé du 29 au 31 mars par l'Initiative Pananetugri pour le bien-être de la femme (IPBF) et le collectif des féministes. Ce festival vise à rassembler les associations de droits des femmes et les groupes féministes pour lutter contre toutes les formes de discriminations et d'oppressions et a porté sur le thème « Bienveillance et sororité ».

Les participantes ont discuté de l'impact de la crise humanitaire sur les femmes et les droits des étudiantes mères à l'université Norbert Zongo de Koudougou. La directrice exécutive de l'IPBF, Micheline Kaboré, a souligné que le féminisme est un mouvement pour les droits des femmes et des filles, qui ne vise pas à lutter contre les hommes, et qui est souvent mal compris en raison du manque d'information. Des militantes de différents pays, dont le Burkina, le Congo et le Sénégal, ont participé à l'événement. Le festival avait également pour but de déconstruire les préjugés sur les femmes et promouvoir la solidarité et les idées constructives.

A Festival to promote the fight for women's and girls' rights

The first Feminist Festival in Burkina Faso was organised from 29 to 31 March by the Pananetugri Initiative for Women's Welfare (IPBF) and the Feminist Collective. This festival aims to bring together women's rights associations and feminist groups to fight against all forms of discrimination and oppression and focused on the theme "Benevolence and sisterhood".

Participants discussed the impact of the humanitarian crisis on women and the rights of student mothers at the Norbert Zongo University in Koudougou. IPBF Executive Director Micheline Kaboré stressed that feminism is a movement for women's and girls' rights, which is not aimed at fighting against men, and is often misunderstood due to lack of information. Activists from different countries, including Burkina, Congo and Senegal, participated in the event. The festival also aimed to deconstruct prejudices about women and promote solidarity and constructive ideas.

Promouvoir le vivre-ensemble par le cinéma numérique 

Le Burkina Faso a été longtemps considéré comme un pays de paix et de cohésion sociale avec une diversité culturelle. Cependant, depuis quelques années, le vivre-ensemble est menacé à cause du terrorisme occasionnant des conflits communautaires.

Pour remédier à cette situation, le village de Nayalgué, situé à environ 2 km de Koudougou, dans la région du Centre Ouest, a accueilli le vendredi 31 mars 2023, une séance de projection de films sur la culture du vivre-ensemble.

Pour Wend-Lassida Ouédraogo, coordonnateur du Cinéma numérique ambulant (CNA), initiateur de cette projection, l’objectif était de consolider la cohésion sociale déjà existante dans la localité ou de tenter de la recréer, à travers les films diffusés.

Sibiri Pascal Zongo, représentant du chef du village de Nayalgué, a confirmé la bonne entente qui règne entre les habitants malgré les différences ethniques. « On a été très heureux de recevoir ce cinéma. Nous avons pris bonne note du message de sensibilisation. Ici à Nayalgué, il y a tout le monde : des Gourounsi, des Peuls… On vit bien ensemble, dans la cohésion ».

Promoting social cohesion through mobile digital cinema

Burkina Faso was considered a country of peace and social cohesion with cultural diversity. However, for some years now, living together has been threatened by terrorism and community conflicts. To remedy this situation, the village of Nayalgué, located about 2 km from Koudougou, in the Centre-West region, hosted a film screening on the culture of living together on Friday 31 March 2023.

 For Wend-Lassida Ouédraogo, coordinator of the Cinéma numérique ambulant (CNA) Burkina, the initiator of this screening, the objective was to consolidate the social cohesion already existing in the locality or to try to recreate it, through the films shown.

Sibiri Pascal Zongo, representative of the chief of the village of Nayalgué, confirmed the good understanding that reigns between the inhabitants despite the ethnic difference. "We were very happy to receive them. We have taken good note of the awareness-raising message. Here in Nayalgué, there is everyone, the Gourounsi, the Peuls... We live well together, in cohesion".

Deux journalistes du Monde Afrique et de Libération expulsées

Le 1er avril, Sophie Douce et Agnès Faivre, correspondantes des journaux Le Monde Afrique et Libération se sont vues notifier l’annulation de leurs accréditations et cartes de presse par des agents de la direction de la sûreté de l’État burkinabè.

Selon le Monde, avant la visite des agents à leurs domiciles respectifs pour leur notifier verbalement leur expulsion, elles auraient été convoquées et auditionnées dans les locaux de l’agence de renseignement burkinabè le 31 mars.

Cette expulsion intervient quelques jours après la publication d’un article du journal Libération évoquant l’exécution d’enfants par des militaires burkinabè dans un camp militaire le 27 mars. Les autorités burkinabè ont jugé l’accusation infondée et l’ont qualifiée de tentative de manipulation  pour ternir l’image du pays.

Le porte-parole du gouvernement burkinabè a annoncé la suspension des programmes de France 24 sur l’ensemble du territoire à la suite de la diffusion quelques semaines plus tôt d’un entretien accordé au chef d’Al-Qaïda au Maghreb islamique (AQMI), un des groupes terroristes agissant au Burkina Faso.

Après  l’expulsion des journalistes français, le Quai d’Orsay a exprimé son regret par rapport à la situation, et a réaffirmé son engagement constant et déterminé en faveur de la liberté de la presse.

Two journalists from Le Monde Afrique and Libération expelled

On 1 April, Sophie Douce and Agnès Faivre, correspondents for the newspapers Le Monde Afrique and La Libération, were notified of the cancellation of their accreditations and press cards by agents of the Burkinabe State Security Directorate. According to Le Monde, before the agents visited their respective homes to verbally notify them of their expulsions, they were summoned and interviewed at the premises of the Burkinabe intelligence agency on 31 March.

This expulsion comes a few days after the publication of an article in the newspaper Libération referring to the execution of children by Burkinabe soldiers in a military camp on 27 March. The reaction of the Burkinabe authorities was not long in coming. They considered the accusation unfounded and described it as an attempt at manipulation with the aim of tarnishing the country's image. Also on the same day, the Burkinabe government spokesman announced the suspension of France 24 programmes throughout the country following the broadcast a few weeks earlier of an interview with the leader of Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM), one of the terrorist groups operating in Burkina Faso.

Following the expulsion of the French journalists, the Quai d'Orsay expressed its regret about the situation and reaffirmed its constant and determined commitment to press freedom.

Un guide religieux complice des terroristes dans le village de Sidéradougou

Après la grande offensive lancée par l’armée burkinabè pour en finir avec le terrorisme, un guide religieux complice des terroristes a été pris au piège le 30 mars par les FDS dans le village de Kouérêle, situé dans la province de la Comoé. 

Les sources ont précisé qu’il aurait passé un moment difficile entre les mains des VDP et des FDS, devant ses épouses et ses enfants. Il a été conduit vers une destination inconnue.

A religious guide complicit with terrorists in the village of Sidéradougou

Following the great offensive launched by the Burkinabe army to put an end to terrorism throughout the country, a religious guide who was an accomplice of the terrorists was trapped by the FDS in the Comoé province, more precisely in the village of Kouérê on 30 March.  Sources said that he spent a difficult and unforgettable time in the hands of the VDP and FDS, in front of his wives and children. He was taken to an unknown destination.

Eddie Komboïgo appelle à la recherche de la paix

Le 31 mars, le président du Congrès pour la démocratie et le progrès (CDP) au Burkina Faso, Eddie Komboïgo, a effectué une visite de solidarité à deux organisations islamiques - la communauté musulmane du Burkina Faso et le mouvement sunnite – à l’occasion du mois de ramadan. Cette visite s’inscrit dans la tradition du parti de faire un don chaque année pendant le ramadan.

Au cours de cette visite, Eddie Komboïgo a remis plusieurs cartons de sucre et a également plaidé pour une implication plus forte des autorités religieuses dans la recherche de la paix. Il a encouragé les leaders religieux à travailler en collaboration avec les dirigeants de la transition pour un retour rapide à la paix. Il a également demandé aux autorités religieuses de jouer un rôle plus important dans la promotion de l’unité et de la fraternité entre les différentes confessions religieuses et cultures présentes dans le pays.

Les bénéficiaires ont accueilli favorablement cette visite et ont salué la tradition du CDP de partager pendant le Ramadan. Ils ont apprécié ce geste de solidarité, le qualifiant de « noble ». Le secrétaire général de la communauté musulmane du Burkina Faso, El Hadj Hatimi Démé, a souligné l’importance de tisser des relations de fraternité entre les différentes confessions religieuses et cultures présentes au Burkina Faso.

Eddie Komboïgo calls for the search for peace

On 31 March, the president of the Congress for Democracy and Progress (CDP) in Burkina Faso, Eddie Komboogo, paid a solidarity visit to two Islamic organisations, the Muslim community of Burkina Faso and the Sunni movement, for the month of Ramadan. This visit is part of the party's tradition of making a donation every year during Ramadan.

During the visit, Eddie Komboogo handed over several boxes of sugar and also pleaded for a stronger involvement of religious authorities in the search for peace in the country. He encouraged the religious leaders to work together with the transitional leaders for a rapid return to peace. He also asked the religious authorities to play a greater role in promoting unity and brotherhood between the different religious denominations and cultures in the country.

The beneficiaries welcomed the visit and commended the CDP's tradition of sharing during Ramadan. They appreciated this gesture of solidarity and described it as noble. The Secretary General of the Muslim community in Burkina Faso, El Hadj Hatimi Démé, stressed the importance of building relationships of brotherhood between the different religious denominations and cultures present in Burkina Faso.

Des bourses pour former  les déplacés et les familles des FDS et des VDP

Dans un souci de solidarité aux personnes déplacées internes, les responsables du centre de formation pour l’emploi ont annoncé le 31 mars à Ouagadougou avoir instauré une bourse de formation gratuite, dans un métier au choix, au profit des personnes déplacées internes, des familles des Forces de défense et de sécurité (FDS) et des volontaires pour la défense et la patrie (VDP).

Pour Yentema Tindano, directeur général du Centre, la formation sera gratuite pour les personnes sélectionnées. Elles bénéficieront du programme d’accompagnement à l’insertion professionnelle. Concernant la sélection des candidats, le directeur général affirme que des correspondances ont été adressées à Plan international Burkina, Terre des hommes, le ministère de l’action sociale, SOS Sahel, afin qu’ils fournissent régulièrement des listes de personnes pouvant bénéficier de l’offre.

Les modules de formations sont entre autres la fabrication du pagne Kôkô Donda, la fabrication des jus naturels, l’énergie solaire, l’électricité bâtiment, la pâtisserie, le secrétariat, la gestion d’entreprise et la gestion commerciale.

A training grant for internally displaced persons, families of the Defence and Security Forces and Volunteers for the Defence and Homeland (VDP)

In a bid to show solidarity with internally displaced persons (IDPs) who are suffering as a result of the security situation, and to participate in the war effort, the managers of the Employment Training Centre announced on 31 March in Ouagadougou that they had initiated a free training scholarship in a trade of their choice for IDPs, families of the Defence and Security Forces and Volunteers for the Defence and Homeland (VDP).

According to Yentema Tindano, Director General of the said Centre, the training would be totally free of charge for the selected persons. Supplies will be paid for at 100% and they will benefit from the programme of support for professional integration. Regarding the selection of candidates, the Director General said that correspondence was sent to Plan International Burkina, Terre des Hommes, the Ministry of Social Action and SOS Sahel, so that they would regularly provide lists of people who could benefit from the offer.

The training modules include the manufacture of Kôkô Donda loincloth, the manufacture of natural juices, solar energy, building electricity, pastry-making, secretarial skills, business management and commercial management.

Un ouvrage sur le terrorisme au Burkina Faso

Le 31 mars à Ouagadougou, le Pôle d’excellence Africa multiple de l’université Joseph Ki-Zerbo a présenté un ouvrage intitulé « Le terrorisme au Burkina Faso : négocier ou pas ? ».

Cet ouvrage découle de 30 contributions faites à l’occasion du colloque international qui s’est tenu du 13 au 15 décembre 2021 organisé par le pôle d’excellence. L’ouvrage a été publié en deux tomes (1 et 2) sous la direction de Dr Désiré Boniface Somé.

Des enseignants-chercheurs, des chercheurs, des praticiens du Burkina Faso ; des Nigériens, des Togolais, des Maliens, Nigérians, Français, Allemands, etc., ont contribué par vidéoconférence à l’élaboration de cet ouvrage.

 L’objectif était de comprendre le phénomène du terrorisme, de suivre son cheminement. Des éclairages ont été faits sur les acteurs (terroristes), leurs méthodes ; la définition du mot terrorisme ; la différence avec le djihadisme ; les causes du terrorisme ; les conséquences sur l’ensemble des catégories de la société y compris celle des plus fragiles (l’enfant, la femme, les personnes âgées).

Enfin, concernant les contributions, le choix a été porté pour une négociation sans remettre en cause la souveraineté du Burkina Faso. Les questions de liberté, de démocratie, de laïcité ne sont pas négociables.

A book on terrorism in Burkina Faso

On 31 March in Ouagadougou, the Africa Multiple Pole of Excellence of Joseph Ki-Zerbo University presented a book entitled "Le terrorisme au Burkina Faso: négocier ou pas? This book is the result of 30 contributions made on the occasion of the international colloquium held from 13 to 15 December 2021 and organised by the said centre of excellence. The book was published in two volumes (1 and 2) under the direction of Dr Désiré Boniface Somé, Director of Publication.

Teacher-researchers, researchers and practitioners from Burkina Faso, Niger, Togo, Mali, Nigeria, France, Germany, etc., contributed to the development of this book via video-conference. The objective was to understand the phenomenon of terrorism and to follow its progress, then to determine the usefulness of the book in real time. In a second phase, the actors (terrorists), their methods, the definition of the word terrorism, the difference with jihadism, the causes of terrorism, the consequences on all categories of society, including the most vulnerable (children, women, the elderly) were clarified. Finally, as regards the contributions, the choice was made to negotiate without calling into question the sovereignty of Burkina Faso. However, it should be noted that the issues of freedom, democracy and secularism are not negotiable.
