Le gouvernement affirme que le peuple est « uni dans sa diversité »

Le gouvernement a exprimé son mécontentement après la publication par Jeune Afrique d’un article intitulé « Burkina Faso : cinq questions pour comprendre le recrutement massif de VDP », et repris par Radio France Internationale (RFI) le 2 novembre.

Ces deux organes de presse ont affirmé qu’« alors que les groupes d’autodéfense et les VDP recrutent majoritairement au sein de la communauté mossie, les groupes djihadistes, eux, puisent largement dans la communauté peule ».

Le gouvernement a affirmé qu’il a le soutien du peuple uni dans la diversité et qu’il est engagé à assumer son destin et sa souveraineté.

The government of Burkina Faso expressed its dissatisfaction with the publication by Jeune Afrique (JA) of an article entitled "Burkina Faso: five questions to understand the massive recruitment of VDPs", which was picked up by Radio France Internationale (RFI) in its press review of 2 November. Both media outlets stated in their comments that 'while the self-defence groups and the VDPs recruit mainly from the Mossi community, the jihadist groups draw largely from the Peul community'.

The government affirmed that it has the support of the people, united in diversity and committed to its destiny and sovereignty.

Appel à la création d’un ministère de la Réconciliation nationale

L’ancien député et écrivain Amadou Traoré a commenté la composition du nouveau gouvernement Kyelem de Tembela. Pour pallier la crise sécuritaire que connaît le Burkina Faso, le gouvernement aurait dû, selon lui, procéder à la nomination d’un gouvernement d’union nationale et créer un ministère de la Réconciliation nationale qui permettrait aux Burkinabè de s’unir face aux injustices et aux exactions commises dans le passé.

Cependant le regroupement de plusieurs départements dans un seul ministère posera le problème d’efficacité. Concernant le ministère que dirige madame Diallo, il estime que l’atteinte de résultats sera problématique ; il serait plus judicieux de scinder ce ministère en trois à savoir un ministère en charge de la Solidarité nationale et de l’Action humanitaire, un ministère en charge de la Cohésion sociale et de la Réconciliation nationale et un autre chargé du genre et de la famille.

Pour la reconquête de l’intégrité territoriale, Amadou Traoré a terminé en exhortant les Burkinabè à apporter leur soutien au Président de la transition.

Call for the creation of a Ministry of National Reconciliation

To address the security crisis in Burkina Faso, the government should have appointed a government of national unity and created a ministry of national reconciliation that would allow Burkinabe to unite in the face of injustices and abuses committed in the past.

However, the grouping of several departments in a single ministry will pose the problem of efficiency. Regarding the ministry headed by Ms Diallo, achieving results would be problematic. It would be more judicious to split this ministry into three, namely a ministry in charge of national solidarity and humanitarian action, a ministry in charge of social cohesion and national reconciliation and another in charge of gender and family.

He ended by urging Burkinabè to support the President of the Transition in regaining territorial integrity.

Le chef de terre de Yikoudin s’oppose à la vente d’un lieu sacré

Face à la presse, le 5 novembre, le chef de terre, Dominique Kabore, a exprimé son mécontentement à la suite de la vente illicite des terres et lieux sacrés par l’ancien maire de l’arrondissement 4 de Ouagadougou.

En rappel, le terrain de 30 hectares, auparavant exploité pour l’agriculture, a été vendu à la société immobilière « Abdoul Service ». Cette dernière a cédé ces terres à un Chinois qui, ayant pris connaissance du litige, a abandonné toute idée d'exploitation.

Selon le chef de Yikoudin, pour des raisons cultuelles et culturelles, ce domaine familial ne peut être vendu, ni même par les autorités coutumières. Il a exhorté toute personne ayant pour ambition de vendre l’espace a y renoncer afin d’éviter toutes formes de violences.

Yikudin land chief opposes the sale of a sacred place

Speaking to the press on 5 November, land chief Dominique Kabore expressed his dissatisfaction with the illegal sale of land and sacred places by the former mayor of Ouagadougou's 4th arrondissement.

As a reminder, the 30 hectares of land previously used for agriculture was sold to the real estate company Abdoul Service. The company sold the land to a Chinese man who, having become aware of the dispute, abandoned any idea of exploitation.

According to the chief of Yikoudin, for cultural and religious reasons what is considered to be a family estate cannot be sold, not even by the traditional authorities. He urged anyone with ambitions to sell the area to give it up in order to avoid any form of violence.

Gestion délicate du foncier à Bobo-Dioulasso

Les membres de la délégation spéciale de l’arrondissement 7 de la commune de Bobo-Dioulasso se sont réunis les 3 et 4 novembre en deuxième session ordinaire de l’année pour faire le point de la gestion foncière au sein de l’arrondissement.

Selon Souleymane Sanon, président de la délégation spéciale de l’arrondissement 7, l’arrondissement serait confronté, la plupart du temps, à des problèmes fonciers. Les membres de la délégation spéciale ont fait appel à des techniciens du domaine pour être mieux informés sur la question.

Delicate management of land in Bobo-Dioulasso

The members of the special delegation of district 7 of the commune of Bobo-Dioulasso met on 3 and 4 November for the second ordinary session of the year to take stock of land management in the district.

According to Souleymane Sanon, president of the authorities of the locality, the district is mostly confronted with land problems. They called on technicians to enlightened them on the issue.

Des journalistes formés pour lutter contre la désinformation

L’Institut Universitaire de Formation initiale et continue (IUFIC) a organisé le 7 novembre la sortie de sa première promotion de journalistes professionnels formés à la gestion de la communication de crise à l’université Thomas Sankara. L’Ambassadeur du Royaume de Belgique au Burkina Faso, parrain de la cérémonie, a recommandé aux 16 récipiendaires de contribuer à lutter contre la désinformation qui pourrait avoir un impact catastrophique dans une situation de conflit.

Journalists trained to fight against fake news

The Institut Universitaire de Formation Initiale et Continue (IUFIC) organised on 7 November the graduation of its first class of professional journalists trained in crisis communication management at the Thomas Sankara University. The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium to Burkina Faso, who sponsored the ceremony, recommended to the 16 recipients to contribute to the fight against misinformation which could have a catastrophic impact in a conflict situation.

Succès du Tanghin Festival à Ouagadougou

Du 26 au 30 octobre s’est déroulé à Ouagadougou, le Tanghin Festival (FESTANG). Ce rendez-vous culturel a regroupé plus de 50 000 festivaliers et a permis à 16 jeunes artistes de se faire connaître.

Selon Issaka Rouamba, le président du comité d’organisation, ce festival est un cadre de promotion du vivre-ensemble.

Success of the Tanghin Festival in Ouagadougou

From 26 to 30 October, the Tanghin Festival (FESTANG) took place in Ouagadougou. This cultural event brought together more than 50,000 festival-goers and enabled 16 young artists to make themselves known. According to Issaka Rouamba, the president of the organising committee, this festival is a framework for promoting living together.

Des journalistes formés au traitement des violences basées sur le genre

Un atelier de formation sur le traitement de contenus médiatiques sensibles au genre s’est déroulé le 5 novembre à Ouagadougou. Cette initiative du Réseau ouest-africain des journalistes engagés pour la promotion du genre (ROAJEG) a permis de renforcer les capacités des journalistes dans le traitement des sujets qui touchent aux violences basées sur le genre (VBG), au regard du contexte sécuritaire.

Les journalistes ayant participé à cette formation ont, dans un premier temps, pris connaissance des aspects conceptuels du genre. Ils ont ensuite travaillé sur le traitement médiatique des VBG.

Journalists trained to deal with gender-based violence

A training workshop on the treatment of gender-sensitive media content took place on 5 November in Ouagadougou. This initiative of the West African Network of Journalists Committed to the Promotion of Gender (ROAJEG), has helped build the capacity of journalists in the treatment of topics related to gender-based violence (GBV), given the socio-political and security context in the country. The journalists were introduced to the conceptual aspects of gender and to the basics on the media treatment of GBV.

Le président Traoré galvanise les troupes

Le 5 novembre, les éléments du 14e Régiment interarmes (RIA) de Djibo ont reçu la visite du Capitaine Ibrahim Traoré, après l’attaque des groupes armés terroristes contre leur détachement le 24 octobre. Le président de la transition leur a adressé des messages de félicitations et d’encouragement dans leur engagement pour la défense du territoire. Reconnaissant des dysfonctionnements au sein de l’armée, le président Ibrahim Traoré s’est engagé à les corriger pour plus d’efficacité.

On 5 November, elements of the 14th Inter-Arms Regiment (RIA) in Djibo were visited by the captain Traore after the attack by armed terrorist groups on their detachment on 24 October. The President of the Transition sent them messages of congratulations and encouragement in their commitment to defend the territory. Acknowledging the dysfunctions within the army, the president assured them that they would be corrected for greater efficiency.
